About us

Paw Patrol is run by brother and sister team: Ben and Rosie. We grew up in a household filled with pets; from hamsters and rabbits, to cats and dogs! Together we also spent six years working in conjunction with the charity “Pet Fostering Service Scotland”, where we looked after eleven dogs, and one cat for various lengths of time while their owners were unable to. This gave us valuable experience in handling dogs of different breeds and personalities. Our time with this organisation ended when we permanently adopted one of our foster doggies; a Bichon Frise called Lily. I (Rosie) have a BSc in Zoology, and a MSc in Ecology and Environmental Sustainability at Aberdeen University. During this time I’ve learned about animal behaviour/ psychology, and worked with a range of animals (from mice to red deer calves!). I’ve also interned at the Loch of Lowes Visitor Centre & Reserve as an Assistant Ranger; so I’m more than happy to be out and about with the dogs, no matter the weather conditions! Recently I’ve become a fosterer for the Cats Protection League in Aberdeen, and have had the pleasure of looking after a number of cats. As part of the process of becoming a fosterer I have completed an online course, and my home has been inspected for suitability.  I have also recently completed a course in canine first aid, so if any minor injuries do occur your dogs in safe hands.

Dog Walking

Group: Our group walks run three times a day: morning 10am, lunch 1pm, and afternoons at 3pm. Each walk lasts an hour, and will be in a range of safe & fun locations, such as: beaches, parks, forests and riversides. These walks are designed to let your dog explore, play and socialise. Allowing you to come home to a tired and satisfied pooch! We will collect and return your dog from your home, and  ensure that any muddy paws are cleaned off.  We’ll then give your dog a treat (if allowed) and refill their water bowl. We don’t walk more than 4 dogs per person to ensure your dog gets the love and attention it deserves! Prices: £10 an hour, 50% discount for additional dogs. Solo: These are perfect for dogs who either need one on one attention, or prefer not to be around other dogs. However they can still have a good time playing with us humans! Prices: £10 an hour.

Basic Training

Our training sessions start at an hour long, but can be extended depending on your dogs needs. Through positive reward based methods we'll give your dog training in the basic obedience commands; sit, stay, lie down etc. We'll also go over good leash manners and recall when off the lead. Prices: £20 an hour, 50% discount for additional dogs (Max two dogs per training session).

Puppy visits

Our puppy visits are perfect for those of you who worry about your puppy being lonely or bored while your out at work. We recommend having either two or three visits throughout the day depending on how long you’ll be out.  During these visits we’ll meet all your puppy’s needs such as; toilet breaks, medication, and feeding. We’ll also ensure your puppy get lots of play and cuddles! Once your puppy has been inoculated, we can take them on short walks, and eventually introduce them to other dogs that we walk. Prices: £6 per 30min visit.   £9 Per hour.

Home Visits/ Pet sitting

These are similar to puppy visits but include all domestic animals. These can be personalised to your needs, but again include feeding, medication, toilet breaks or short walks. As well as plenty of love and play. Pet sitting refers to multiple visits throughout the day which could allow your animal to stay at home instead of kennels (suitable for cats and small critters). Prices: £6 per 30 min visit.   £9 per Hour.

What is the Meet & Greet Session? Before taking on your dog as a client we like to have a brief free introduction session. This is a good chance to have you and your dogs get to know us, see our qualifications, and our insurance details. We also like to know your dog’s quirks and preferences, and complete our client form.
How many dogs are walked at one time? We walk 4 dogs per person, for a total of 8 dogs. Giving the dogs as much opportunity for play and fun as possible.
How is picking up and dropping off dogs arranged? We will pick up and drop off your dog using our fitted and ventilated dog van. Due to travel time and picking up the rest of the pack, we will pick up and drop off your dog up to 30mins before and after the allotted time. Your dog will always receive its full walk regardless of travel times.
Do I need to be home when you collect my dog? No you don’t. Clients can give us spare keys so we can access the property or keys left in a safe place. We keep your keys in a locked safe with no identifying personal information linking them to your home. Should your keys be lost or stolen, we will inform you immediately. Replacement of keys, and a lock change is covered by our insurance. We have completed a Police Scotland criminal disclosure check which you can see during our introduction session.
How is your van fitted out and ventilated? Our van is fitted with secure cages and a ventilator system, as well as a ramp for smaller dogs. We encourage you to come and have a look during our Meet & Greet.
Where do you walk? We walk your dog in variety of parks, woodland trails, and the beach, both in and around Aberdeen. Locations are chosen based on safety, security and the weather conditions.
Do you walk dogs off the lead? Yes this is our preferred way of walking our dogs as it gives the dogs far more exercise and enjoyment. We do require you to sign a written consent form beforehand. Generally for the first few walks we will keep your dog on a long training lead so we can test recall and it’s response to our commands. After we are confident in your dogs recall we will let your dogs off the lead on a regular basis.
Are there any breeds of dog you won't walk? No, We will accept any dog on the content of their character rather than a breeds reputation.
Do you take bitches in season? Only by specific arrangement. We do not generally walk bitches in season as we cannot take them in our van. We can walk your dog but only: solo, on the lead, and in your local neighbourhood. The owner must provide any required protection such as doggy nappies, sprays etc.
My Dog is aggressive or reactive. Will you still walk him? We will walk aggressive or reactive dogs but only on solo walks, on the lead. The owner must also provide a properly fitted muzzle and complete history of past incidents and trigger behaviour.
